MPBCA
Goals:
- Promoting the Border Collie breed as a working
stockdog.
- Educating the public on the abilities, working
characteristics, variations in type and recognized registries
of the breed.
- Promoting and maintaining purebred dogs and
encouraging selective breeding to eliminate and control genetic
defects that may be found in the breed.
- Conducting organized workout sessions, fun
days, and trials to encourage members to develop their dogs
to the fullest extent of their natural abilities.
- Keeping membership informed of workout,
training clinics, trials, and other matters concerning the breed.
- Promoting competitive activity with other field
trial oriented organizations.
MPBCA Organization:
- The MPBCA is led by volunteer officers, which
are elected on a biannual basis. In addition to the opportunity
of serving as an officer, MPBCA provides many avenues for members
to get involved. Volunteer workers are always needed for every
MPBCA activity, to help guarantee the success of the event. In
addition, a variety of committees provide excellent opportunities
for members to make new friends and work together on common
MPBCA goal.
MPBCA Activities:
- The MPBCA attracts top handlers to conduct
stockdog clinics and one-on-one instruction sessions. Health
clinics, instinct testing and other events generate funds for
the MPBCA and provide members with low-cost services for their
Border Collies.
- With Colorado's mild weather, educational "fun
days" are often available throughout the year.
MPBCA Benefits:
- Members of the MPBCA receive a periodic newsletter
that includes upcoming event information, training articles,
member profiles, and results from recent trials.
- Members may also advertise dog and stock related
items on the web site.
- Members enjoy networking with other interested
in activities with their Border Collies. They participate in
many fun and educational events, and most importantly, provide
their Border Collies with an opportunity to do what they have
been bred to do for hundred of years.
